Distinct Motive bio

Distinct Motive is a Canadian producer/DJ creating explorative, visceral bass music for the masses. He quickly made a name for himself with his dark and minimal production style.

Paying homage to the early aesthetic of dubstep while building a sound unique unto himself, he has put his respective hometown of Toronto on the map in international bass music circles, advocating for the original, dub-influenced side of dubstep to elated audiences across North America and Europe. Distinct Motive has gained support from many great dubstep acts/foundational figures such as Mala, Truth, J.Sparrow and J:Kenzo.

With 5 vinyl releases under his belt from 2016-2019 on imprints such as Deep Dark & Dangerous to J.Sparrow’s Navy Cut, Distinct Motive has proven to be a staple in the new wave of the deeper sounds.

Kursa

London-based producer Kursa is well known for his broad musical style and inventive sound design. He never fails to push the envelope of bass design, constantly reinventing his sound and embracing the evolving nature of electronic music. He’s played parties and festivals of all shapes and sizes in the UK, Europe and Canada. It’s safe to say he knows how to build a party and tear it right down.

Having been involved in Wonkay Records since 2011 featuring on many of their compilations, he’s since released on an impressive array of labels whilst keeping his individuality intact. His live scratch project with Lone Drum and Osmetic (K.L.O.) and involvement with Methlab has taken his music to a whole new audience and given him the freedom to aggressively focus on his own vision. Having now met the SLUG WIFE team, he’s found a home for his sound.
